New Phone, Lost All Recordings?

Don't panic. You probably just logged in with the wrong account.

Updated this week

If you just got a new phone—or reinstalled Wave—and logged in only to see zero recordings, take a deep breath. Your data is almost certainly still safe and sound.

🔐 Why This Happens

Wave stores your data securely in the cloud, tied to your login method—usually Google or Apple. If you use a different login method or a different email address (even a different Google account), Wave sees that as a completely separate user. No data is shared between accounts.

So when you log in and nothing's there, you're not missing your data...
You're just in the wrong account.

🧠 Most Common Mistakes

  • You originally signed up with Google, but now logged in with Apple

  • You used your work email before, but logged in with your personal Gmail

  • You have multiple Google accounts, and picked the wrong one

  • You accidentally created a new account by tapping the wrong login option

✅ How to Fix It

  1. Open Wave Settings

  2. Tap "Log Out"

  3. Log back in—but make sure to choose the correct login method and email

If you’re not sure which account you used, think back to:

  • Which email received your original Wave welcome emails

  • Which account you use in the App Store or Google Play

  • Where your Wave summaries have been emailed in the past

You can repeat the logout/login process until you find the right account. Once you do, all your past recordings, transcripts, and summaries will appear instantly.
