Setting Up Siri Shortcuts

Start a Wave recording with your voice

Updated over a year ago

Wave's integration with Siri Shortcuts lets you jump into recording with just your voice. No more fumbling through screens when you're in a rush to capture a thought or conversation. Here's how to set it up:

Step-by-Step Guide:

  • Open the Wave App: Launch Wave on your iPhone.

  • Navigate to Settings: In the bottom right corner of your screen, tap on the settings icon to access your app preferences.

Wave Settings Screen

  • Add Wave to Siri Shortcuts: You'll see two options under 'Preferences' – "Add to Siri - Start Recording" and "Add to Siri - Inbound Call". These are your shortcuts for starting a new Wave recording and setting up the call bridge, respectively.

  • Default Commands: By default, the phrases are set as "Start a new Wave recording" and "Start Wave Phone Bridge". You don't need to record these commands, as they are preset.

  • Customize (Optional): If you want to personalize the voice command, tap on "Change Voice Phrase" and record your own. This can be anything you like that's easy to remember and say.

Using Your Shortcut:

To start a recording, activate Siri and say "Start a new Wave recording".
To start recording an inbound call, activate Siri and say "Start Wave Phone Bridge".

iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max Users: You can use the Action Button on your iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max to activate these shortcuts.

  1. Assign to Action Button: Head to the iPhone settings and locate the Action Button settings.

  2. Select Wave Shortcut: Choose the Wave Siri Shortcut to assign to your Action Button.

  3. One Press to Start: Now, a single press of the Action Button will trigger Siri to start a Wave recording.
