Earning with the Wave Partner Program
Share your referral link and earn 30% of the subscription revenue for 12 months from everyone who signs up through it.
Every Wave account can hand out a referral link. Anyone who signs up through it and starts paying earns you 30% of their subscription revenue for 12 months — recurring, not a one-time bounty. A handful of referred subscribers covers your own plan.
Open your dashboard
Open Settings, and under Plan & Usage tap Share Wave and earn — "Earn 30% for 12 months when friends subscribe". The Partner Program screen loads your dashboard.
Your referral link is created the first time you open it — you don't have to apply or be approved. The dashboard is the same on every platform: your links, clicks, sign-ups, conversions, and commissions, updating as they happen.
Claim a custom handle
New links look like invite.wave.co/abc123. To make yours memorable, use the Add a custom handle box at the top of the dashboard: type the handle you want after invite.wave.co/ and tap Save.
Handles are 3–32 characters, lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, and must start with a letter or number. invite.wave.co/jessica works; invite.wave.co/-Jess! doesn't.
Old links keep working. Adding a handle is additive — anything you already shared still credits you, so there's no cost to changing it later.
Get paid
Payouts run through Dub, our partner platform. On the mobile dashboard, the Ready to get paid? row — "Connect your bank or PayPal through our partner, Dub" — has a Manage payouts button that takes you to Dub's onboarding the first time and straight into your existing partner record after that. That's where you connect a bank account or PayPal and supply the tax details Dub needs.
Commissions accrue as your referrals pay. Wave holds new commissions for about 30 days before they're payable, to cover refunds, and pays out monthly once your balance clears the platform minimum (currently $20). Refunds inside that window reverse the commission.
What earns a commission
- A new customer who clicks your link and then starts a paid subscription. Free accounts that never upgrade don't earn anything.
- Renewals and upgrades in the first 12 months count too — the clock starts from that customer's first paid transaction, not from when they signed up.
- Referrals are attributed by the link click, so send people to your link rather than the App Store listing.
Sharing that actually works
- Talk about the problem, not the product. "I stopped losing my meeting notes" outperforms "Wave is an AI note-taker".
- Show the output. One screenshot of a real summary beats a feature list.
- Aim at people who sit in a lot of conversations: students, consultants, sales reps, journalists, founders.
- Mention what it doesn't do. Recommendations with a caveat get trusted.
Program rules
- No spam, and no paid search ads bidding on Wave's brand terms.
- No self-referrals. Using your own link for a second account you control gets the commission reversed, and repeat attempts get you removed from the program.
- Wave can remove any partner whose promotion materially harms the brand.
If a commission looks wrong or your dashboard won't load — "Couldn't load your partner dashboard" — try again from the dashboard, then message us in the in-app chat. Plan and billing questions belong in Wave plans and pricing.
