Wave Assistant: Search and Chat Across All Your Sessions (Beta)

Learn how to use Wave Assistant to search and chat across your entire session history.

Updated over a month ago

We are excited to introduce Wave Assistant β€” a powerful new way to search and chat across your entire Wave history. πŸŽ‰

✨ Whats New

Previously, search was limited to matching session titles, and chat was restricted to individual sessions or folders. Now, Wave Assistant can search and understand the content of all your sessions, making it easy to find that specific conversation or ask questions across your entire history.

πŸ” Semantic Search

On the All Waves screen, the search bar now uses semantic search:

  • Search by meaning β€” Find sessions based on what was discussed, not just the title

  • Natural language queries β€” Search for "meeting about budget" or "conversation with doctor"

  • Relevant results first β€” Results are ranked by how well they match your search

πŸ’¬ Wave Assistant Chat

The Chat tab (bottom right) now lets you have conversations across your entire session history:

  • Ask anything β€” "What did we decide about the project timeline?" or "Find my conversations about travel plans"

  • See AI thinking β€” Watch as Wave Assistant searches, reads, and analyzes your sessions 🧠

  • Jump to sources β€” Tap on session references in responses to go directly to the relevant session πŸ”—

  • Chat history β€” Your conversations are saved. Tap the menu icon (top left) to see past chats πŸ“š

πŸ’‘ Tips for Best Results

  • Be specific in your questions β€” "What was the address mentioned in my call with John?" works better than "find address"

  • Wave Assistant can summarize across multiple sessions β€” try "What are the common themes in my therapy sessions?"

  • New sessions are automatically indexed
