Recently Deleted — How to Restore a Deleted Session

Sessions stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Here's how to restore them on mobile, web, and desktop.

Updated over a week ago

When you delete a session in Wave, it isn't gone forever — it's moved to Recently Deleted, where it stays for 30 days before being permanently removed. You can restore a session at any point during that window.

📱 On Mobile (iOS & Android)

  1. Open the Wave app and go to your sessions list.

  2. Tap the filter pill at the top of the list and choose Recently Deleted.

  3. Tap the session you want to recover.

  4. A red banner at the top of the Session Details page shows how many days are left. Tap Restore.

The session returns to your main library and can be played, shared, and edited normally.

💻 On Web (app.wave.co)

  1. Go to app.wave.co and sign in.

  2. Click the trash icon in the sidebar footer (labelled Recently Deleted).

  3. Find the session in the list. Each row shows how many days remain before permanent deletion.

  4. Click Restore to move it back to your library, or Delete Forever to remove it immediately.

Delete Forever is permanent and cannot be undone.

🖥️ On Desktop (Mac & Windows)

  1. Open Wave Desktop.

  2. In the filter bar above the sessions list, click Recently Deleted.

  3. Click a session to open it.

  4. A red banner appears at the top of the session view with a Restore button. Click it to move the session back to your library.

Good to know

  • Deleted sessions are permanently removed after 30 days — restore them before then if you want to keep them.

  • Sessions are synced across mobile, web, and desktop. Restoring on one platform restores it everywhere.

  • Permanent deletion removes the recording, transcript, summary, and chat history. That data cannot be recovered.
