How to Connect Wave to ChatGPT

Give ChatGPT access to your Wave meetings — search transcripts and pull summaries right inside a ChatGPT chat. Step by step, no code.

Connecting Wave to ChatGPT lets ChatGPT reach into your meetings. Once it's set up, you can ask things like "What did we decide in yesterday's call?" or "Summarize my meetings about the budget" — and it answers using your actual Wave transcripts and summaries.

There's no code involved. It's two quick parts: turn on Developer Mode, then add Wave. Follow the steps below.

Before you start

  • A Wave account (the same one you record with).

  • A paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise). Custom connectors aren't available on the free plan.

  • ChatGPT on the web or desktop app.

Part 1 — Turn on Developer Mode

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to Settings.

  2. Click Connectors (in some plans it's under Apps & Connectors).

  3. Open Advanced settings.

  4. Turn on Developer Mode.

Part 2 — Add Wave

  1. Back on the Connectors screen, click Create (or Add).

  2. For the name, type Wave.

  3. For the URL, paste: https://mcp.wave.co

  4. For authentication, choose OAuth.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Sign in to Wave if asked, then click Allow to give ChatGPT access.

  7. That's it — Wave is now a connector in ChatGPT.

How to use it

Start a new chat, make sure the Wave connector is switched on (in the + / tools menu under the message box), and just ask, for example:

  • "Search my Wave meetings for anything about pricing."

  • "Summarize my last call with the design team."

  • "What were the action items from Monday's standup?"

Everything is read-only: ChatGPT can look at your Wave data but can't change or delete anything.

Not working?

  • No "Developer Mode" option? You need a paid ChatGPT plan, and your app may need updating.

  • Won't connect? Remove it and add it again, making sure the URL is exactly https://mcp.wave.co and authentication is set to OAuth.

  • Want to disconnect? You can revoke access anytime at Settings → Integrations in Wave.
