Wave for Wear OS lets you record directly from your wrist. Recordings transfer to the Wave app on your Android phone automatically and appear in your library like any other session — transcribed and summarized.
Requirements
A watch running Wear OS 3 or later, with a microphone
Wave app installed on your Android phone
Signed in to Wave on your phone
Getting Started
Install Wave on your watch — Open the Play Store on your watch, search for Wave, and install. Or, in the Wave app on your phone, look for the "Wave works on your watch" card and tap Install — it sends the install straight to your paired watch.
Sign in on your phone — The watch app uses your phone's sign-in automatically. There's nothing to type on the watch.
Open Wave on your watch — Allow the microphone permission when asked, and you're ready to record.
Recording on your watch
Tap the record button — The large red button starts recording. A short buzz confirms it started.
See your audio levels — A live level indicator and timer show the recording is running.
Tap stop when done — Your recording is saved and queued to transfer. The ✕ button discards the recording instead (it asks you to confirm first).
There's no pause — stop and start a new recording instead.
Background Recording
Recording keeps going when your watch screen turns off, you lower your wrist, or you switch to another app. While recording in the background, an indicator stays on your watch face — tap it to jump back to Wave.
How Recordings Sync
Recordings transfer to your phone automatically over the watch's connection to your phone
If your phone isn't nearby, recordings wait safely on the watch — you'll see an unsent indicator, and they send automatically once your phone is back in range (or tap the indicator to retry right away)
Once transferred, the recording is processed like any other Wave session
The watch itself doesn't need an internet connection — your phone handles the upload.
Battery
15% battery — You'll see a low battery warning while recording
10% battery — Recording automatically stops and saves, so you don't lose anything
If a phone call or your assistant takes over the microphone mid-recording, Wave stops and saves your recording rather than losing it.
Troubleshooting

Your watch hasn't received your sign-in from the phone yet.

Tips for Best Results
Keep your wrist steady — The microphone is on your watch, so minimize movement noise
Position near the speaker — For meetings or conversations, keep your watch closer to whoever's talking
Check battery first — For longer recordings, start with a solid charge
