Gifting Wave
Give someone a year of Wave Pro with one payment — they get a code, redeem it in the app, and nothing renews.
A Wave AI gift is one year of Wave Pro for someone else, paid once at wave.co/gifts. They get a code, paste it into Wave, and Pro is on for twelve months on every device they use. There's no subscription behind it: nothing renews, and there's nothing to cancel later.
Buying a gift
A gift costs $100 and is paid by card through Stripe. You don't need a Wave account to buy one.
Your code appears on the confirmation page with Copy code and Print a gift card buttons, and a receipt with the same code arrives in your inbox right away. If you chose a delivery date, Wave emails the recipient on that day; you can still hand the code over yourself before then, since it works from the moment you pay.
What the recipient gets
An email from Wave with the subject "Your name gave you a year of Wave", containing your note, the gift code, and the steps below. The code is eight letters and digits and doesn't expire.
Redeeming a gift code
Sign in to Wave first with the account you want the year applied to — the code attaches to whichever account is signed in when you redeem it. If you're new, create a free account with Google, Apple, or Microsoft.
Gift codes use the same screen as team license keys, so the labels mention a team. Redeeming a gift doesn't put you on anyone's team, and nothing about your recordings is shared.
The confirmation talks about a team ("You're now on your team's Wave account." on your phone, "Team license activated successfully! You are now a member of the team." on the web and desktop). That's expected for a gift too. Wave Pro is on immediately, and your year runs from today. Check it on the plan card at the top of Settings on your phone, or under Settings → Plan & billing on the web.
Each code works once, for one account. If you already have Wave Pro from an earlier gift or promotion, the new year is added on top of your current end date.
If you already pay for Wave Pro
A gift can't be applied while an App Store, Google Play, or web subscription is active, or while your Pro comes from a team seat. Wave tells you so when you try ("You already have an active Wave Pro subscription, so this gift can't be applied yet…"), and the code stays unused. Keep it and redeem it once your current plan ends. If you'd rather not renew, turn off auto-renewal first (see managing your subscription).

No. It's a single payment for one year. There's no subscription behind it and nothing to cancel. When the year ends, the account goes back to the free tier unless they choose to subscribe — recordings are never deleted.
If you chose a delivery date, it hasn't gone out yet. Otherwise ask them to check spam or promotions folders. The receipt in your own inbox has the same code, so you can forward it.

Reply to your receipt email, or use the chat below, to fix the recipient's name or email, have the code resent, or ask about a refund for an unredeemed gift.
