2. Assign to the Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro & later)

  1. Open iOS Settings
Go to Settings → Action Button.

  2. Select Your Shortcut
Under Press and Hold, choose Wave – Start Recording (or your customized phrase).

  3. Test It
A long press or single press (per your button settings) should trigger Siri and kick off a Wave recording instantly.

3. Using Your New Workflow

  • By Voice: "Hey Siri, Start a new Wave recording."

  • With Action Button: Press the Action Button → Siri confirms → recording begins.

This gets you into recording mode without tapping through any menus — perfect for meetings, interviews, or quick ideas on the go.

Troubleshooting

  • Siri doesn't recognize the command? Try re-recording the phrase in Settings → Preferences → Add to Siri.

  • Action Button not working? Make sure you've selected the Wave shortcut in iOS Settings → Action Button.

  • Recording doesn't start? Ensure Wave has microphone permissions enabled in iOS Settings → Wave → Microphone.
