Managing Who Has Access to a Shared Session

See everyone who claimed your invite link, remove one person, reset the link, and know when links expire.

Once you've shared a session with another Wave user, the same place you made the link tells you who is using it. You can take one person out, or retire the link entirely.

See who has access

Everyone who has claimed your invite link is listed under People with access, newest first, with their name and email where Wave has them.

Open the session, tap the share icon, and look under Share with a Wave user. The list appears once at least one person has claimed the link.

Remove one person

Open People with access on any client.
Tap or click Remove next to their name.
Confirm. Wave confirms with Access removed, and the session leaves their Shared with me list.

Removing is durable. The link they already have will not let them back in — they get "The owner removed your access to this session." A brand-new invite link you create later will admit them again, so if you want them out for good, don't send them a fresh link.

Removing access stops them opening the session in Wave. It can't reach anything they already downloaded, screenshotted, or copied out before you removed them.

Reset link retires every invite link you've sent for that session and makes a new one. Use it when a link has gone somewhere you didn't intend.

Tap Reset link under Share with a Wave user, then confirm on Reset invite link?. The new link is copied to your clipboard — New invite link copied.

Two things to know about a reset:

  • Old links stop working. Anyone who opens one now gets "This share link has been turned off."
  • People who already have access keep it. Resetting is about the link, not the people. To take someone's access away, remove them.

An invite link works for 30 days from the moment you create it. After that, opening it gives "This share link has expired." Access that was already claimed doesn't expire — the people on your People with access list stay there until you remove them or delete the session.
