Getting a Refund

Who can refund a Wave charge depends on where you paid: Apple, Google Play, or the web. Here's where to go for each, what to send, and what happens to your account afterwards.

Wave AI is sold in three places: the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the web (through Stripe). The place you paid decides who can give the money back. Apple handles its own refunds. Wave can refund Google Play and web charges directly.

Find out where you paid

At app.wave.co, open Settings → Plan & billing. The plan card says Billed through the Apple App Store, Billed through Google Play, or Billed on the web through Stripe.

On your phone, open Settings and look at the button on the plan card at the top: Manage in App Store, Manage in Google Play, or Manage on wave.co tells you who bills you, and opens it. See managing your subscription for more.

Ask for a refund

Apple handles every App Store refund. Wave can't see your Apple payment details and can't refund them. Request it from Apple:

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID that paid.
Choose Request a refund, pick a reason, and select the Wave charge.
Submit. Apple emails you its decision.

Apple's own guide walks through each step: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple.

What happens to your account

  • Your recordings stay. A refund never deletes your sessions, transcripts, or summaries.
  • If the refund also ends the subscription, Pro ends on that account and you move to the free plan. Wave updates this on its own, so you don't need to do anything. See Wave plans and pricing for what the free plan includes.
  • Cancelling isn't refunding. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. To get money back for a charge, ask for a refund as above.

Charged twice?

Most double charges are two subscriptions on the same account, usually one through the App Store or Google Play and one on the web. Check Settings → Plan & billing on the web, then check the subscriptions on your phone (Apple or Google Play).

Contact support with the email you sign in with. Support can cancel and refund a duplicate web or Google Play subscription. If the extra one is through Apple, cancel it in your Apple subscriptions and request the refund from Apple as described above.
