Wave Desktop

Wave Desktop lets you easily record, transcribe, and summarize audio from your mic and computer.

Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

Wave Desktop is an app for Mac and Windows that captures, transcribes, and summarizes anything you hear or say on your computer. Meetings, calls, YouTube videos, podcasts — Wave makes sure you never miss a word.

Record Everything

Wave captures both:

  • Your voice through the microphone

  • Sound from your computer — Zoom calls, YouTube videos, podcasts, and more

Want to record an online meeting without inviting a bot? Wave runs in the background — just press Record and it captures both sides of the conversation seamlessly.

All recordings are saved to your Wave account for easy access across devices.

Instant Transcripts & Summaries

After you finish recording, Wave automatically generates:

  • A full transcript of everything that was said

  • A smart summary with key points and action items

Great for meetings, interviews, lectures, and more.

Easy to Use

  • Press the Record button to start

  • Wave automatically captures sound from your mic and computer

  • Choose your microphone in settings if needed

Syncs Across Devices

Record on desktop, review on mobile. Your recordings sync automatically with your Wave account.

Troubleshooting

Not recording computer audio? Make sure Wave has screen recording permission (Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording).

How do I share a recording? Open the session in the mobile or web app and use the Share button.

Can I record just my voice? Yes — you can toggle audio sources in the app settings.
